Dear Lupus Researchers,

The Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) is pleased to announce that the applications for the ALR’s Target Identification in Lupus Renewal (TILR) grants are now available online.

Eligibility:

Current TIL recipients seeking to further their research may apply for a renewal grant for an additional 2 years for up to $275,000 per year.  The renewal grant is awarded on a competitive basis. If awarded, this grant is considered a continuation of the original TIL Grant. The eligibility for application is as follows:

Guidelines for application and submission are also available on the websites listed above.

Associated deadline dates are as follows:

The ALR funds research that will accelerate the development of new treatments of lupus.  As such, grant proposals should be innovative in direction and utilize state-of-the-art techniques.  Fundamental studies in genetics, immunology, cell biology and molecular biology to identify and characterize molecular systems must be oriented towards the development of drugs that would prevent and/or ameliorate clinical signs and symptoms of lupus.

Individuals with doctoral degrees (MD, PhD, DO or equivalent) are eligible to apply.   Scientific independence, as evidenced by direction of a research program or a publication record or other experience that establishes scientific leadership, is necessary to apply. The ALR does not impose geographic restrictions on its applicants and investigators working anywhere in the world are eligible and encouraged to apply.  The ALR is willing to appropriately support research in industry or collaborations between academia and industry; however, the ALR does not support clinical trials.

If you have any questions or require any additional information regarding the application process, please contact Diomaris Gonzalez, Manager of Research Administration at (212) 218-2840; 1-800-867-1743 or at dgonzalez@lupusresearch.org.
