New York Jets Kick Off 2019 Season with a Blitz Attack on Lupus

August 26, 2019

The Lupus Research Alliance was proud to help launch the upcoming season at the New York Jets 20th Annual Kickoff Luncheon. The event also generated enthusiasm for the many worthwhile causes supported by the Jets team throughout the year. With the help of nearly 800 avid fans in attendance, the luncheon raised over $750,000 to benefit the Lupus Research Alliance and the New York Jets Foundation.

Noting the Jets’ commitment to these two nonprofit organizations, Chairman and CEO Christopher Johnson said, “It’s so important that we do well as a team…but part of that is being a great part of this community and giving back.”

Kenneth M. Farber, President and CEO of the Lupus Research Alliance commented, “We have invested $200 million in over 500 innovative studies that encompass every aspect of lupus research from discoveries in the lab through testing potential treatments.  We deeply thank the New York Jets, our Board of Directors, all our corporate partners and everyone here today for their generosity. It is their ongoing support that allows the Lupus Research Alliance to fund the breakthroughs needed to bring people with lupus new treatments and ultimately a cure.”
