Big thanks go to our 13 Team Life Without Lupus members who ran 26.2 miles November 4 through all five boroughs in the TCS New York City Marathon to raise nearly $40,000 for lupus research.
Five runners have lupus! Seven were running on behalf of loved ones to raise funds so the Lupus Research Alliance can continue to support promising studies to bring them new treatments and a cure.
Here are photos of the team in action, including one taken the day before for a pre-race pasta party at Joanna’s, generously hosted by Lupus Research Alliance Board member and restaurant owner Joe Germanotta. Lady Gaga’s dad, Joe named his restaurant for his sister Joanna in memory of her battle with lupus.
Watch this exciting clip on Westchester’s News 12 TV of runner and lupus warrior Amy Cargain gearing up for the big day.
Join Team Life Without Lupus and run the 2019 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon – applications will be available November 29.
