To take or not to take the COVID-19 vaccine when one is available — that is the question on everyone’s minds, and we need all of your answers to accurately represent people with lupus and their supporters!
As coronavirus vaccines are being developed and tested, the Lupus Research Alliance recently convened a group of experts from academia, government, and pharmaceutical companies in vaccine development and lupus care, along with people with lupus. They discussed questions about effectiveness and safety of the many COVID-19 vaccines in testing as well as special considerations for people with weakened immune systems such as people with lupus.
Panelists very much appreciated hearing the patient perspective from two people with lupus. But we need all your views – those with lupus and those who support them – to best understand the specific questions and concerns about a potential COVID-19 vaccine for our community.
